A section of U.S. Highway 40 (West Sixth Street) was set to be closed for about 100 days, but that closure has been postponed until spring of 2024, according to an update from KDOT.

As part of the Kansas Highway 10 interchange project, a section of U.S. Highway 40 (West Sixth Street) will be closed for about 100 days, beginning Tuesday.
KDOT is beginning work on a project to create a diverging diamond interchange at Sixth Street (U.S. Highway 40) and Kansas Highway 10. Work is expected to be complete by the end of 2024.
The westbound ramp from Kansas Highway 10 to Lexington Avenue in De Soto was set to close Thursday as workers prepare to demolish the westbound bridge deck this weekend.
Bridge improvement work along a roughly 9-mile stretch of K-10 between Eudora and K-7 is set to begin Monday, and it’s expected to continue through early December.
