KU will soon celebrate Potter Lake’s makeover, which has included dredging the lake, infrastructure improvements, planting native plants and more.
A reception and walking tour of a Lawrence public art exhibit will celebrate the fleeting and the permanent, featuring sculptures, natural paper pulp on trees, a live performance and more.
The Lawrence Public Library will soon host “Booktoberfest,” its annual fall series for adult readers with events including trivia, a documentary screening, an after-hours scavenger hunt at the library and more.

A new mural honoring the community of La Yarda will be dedicated Saturday, and the public is welcome to attend the celebration.
