If there were to be a live-action remake of “A Goofy Movie,” silly and laid-back Big Gulp, this week’s Pet of the Week, could have a shot at a starring role.

As a Great Dane mix, Whisky has many of the iconic Scooby Doo features while only weighing 55 pounds. For those who were called “old souls” or “a pleasure to have in class,” she might just be the perfect dog.

Kiba, a 7 1/2-year old English bulldog, has been at the Lawrence Humane Society for a total of 18 months. It’s been rough-going for this gentle giant, but he is still a good boy through and through.

Although Sarah, a 1-year-old female pit bull, acts like an acrobat in her kennel, she shows her true colors as a sweet, mellow pup when she’s out on outings.

Marley, a 3-year-old male pit bull, is stealing the spotlight this week. He arrived at the shelter with no prior training but has been making rapid progress.

The first Lawrence Humane Society Pet of the Week is Athena Bambina, an 8-year-old female pit bull who would be a great first dog or a fantastic addition to a family with kids.
