Daniel Lassman has more than two decades of experience with controlled burns in rural Douglas County, but a recent burn on his family’s farm caused him to take a step back and re-evaluate his game plan.
The Sustainability Advisory Board on Wednesday discussed an ordinance that would require establishments to charge customers 15 cents per disposable paper or plastic bag used, ultimately sending it to the climate change subcommittee for revisions.
“Over the past week, the Sunrise Movement has been staging protests all across the nation, and we will be doing the same at the Kansas Capitol building from 4-5 p.m. this Tuesday, July 20,” the Lawrence hub of the Sunrise Movement writes in this column.
