Bus reroute info updated at 4:13 pm. Tuesday, March 30:

The northbound lane of Louisiana Street, from 27th through 23rd streets, will close this Wednesday, March 31, through Friday, April 2.

Transit routes 7 and 27 will be impacted. According to Lawrence Transit’s website, Route 7 southbound and Route 27 northbound will follow their normal routes. However, routes going the opposite directions will change:

  • Route 7 northbound will go left on Alabama Street, right on 23rd Street, left on Louisiana and be back on its normal route; it will miss stops at 27th and Louisiana and 23rd and Louisiana, by Checkers.
  • Route 27 southbound will continue southbound on Louisiana from 23rd, turn right on 25th, right on Alabama, right on 23rd and be back on its normal route.

According to a city news release, staff found issues with roadwork completed on Louisiana last year that will require the contractor to repave the roadway.

Repairs won’t cost the city anything because the roadway is under warranty, according to the release.

More information on traffic projects is available on the city’s website, lawrenceks.org/construction.
