Nicholas Parscale, of Lawrence, was diagnosed with pineoblastoma, a type of brain cancer, at age 10 in 2016.

He hasn’t let that stop him from becoming a podcast host — hear him on “Nick the Brave: My story of chemo, kitties and canines” — and a published author.

A book signing on Friday at The Dusty Bookshelf, 708 Massachusetts St., celebrated the release of Nicholas’ book, “What I Wish I Knew Before Cancer: A Young Man’s Memoir.”
