Kids of all ages are invited to Deja’s Reading Rainbow Sunday.

Deja Brooks, popular Lawrence drag artist, will read and perform “stories embracing our local LGBTQ+ community and celebrating families of all kinds,” according to the Facebook event page

“Deja’s Reading Rainbow is a storytime about love and friendship, being different and belonging, being unique and being accepted, colors, rainbows, and, of course, fun!”

Brooks is hosting the event along with the Lawrence Public Library. Craft kits for kids are available for pickup from the children’s department at the library, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (707 Vermont St.).

The live stream is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. this Sunday, April 18, on Facebook, and it’s free and open to the public.

The next Reading Rainbow on the library’s calendar is June 6.
