Rain, snow predicted for Lawrence Monday night through Tuesday

The National Weather Service’s Topeka office is predicting rain, snow and frost for Lawrence starting late Monday night and throughout much of Tuesday.

A winter weather advisory is set from 10 p.m. tonight through 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to Douglas County Emergency Management.

The forecast shows a slight chance of rain before midnight tonight, with a 70% chance of precipitation and less than an inch of overnight snow accumulation possible.

Tuesday morning, rain and snow is expected before 1 p.m. with a high of 46°. There’s a 90% chance of precipitation and less than an inch of new snow accumulation possible, the forecast shows.

Tuesday night should be mostly clear with a low of 26°, with widespread frost from 11 p.m. through around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Wednesday, however, is expected to be sunny with a high of 52°.
