Aliyah Hardridge, a 15-year-old girl who had been missing from Ottawa for several days, has been located safe, Ottawa Police announced Thursday evening in a Facebook post.

Further details were not immediately available Thursday, but Chief Adam Weingartner thanked the hundreds of folks who helped spread the word.

“And thank you to the officers and detectives from the Ottawa Police Department for working tirelessly to find Aliyah!!” he wrote.

Hardridge left her family’s home to take a walk Saturday afternoon but didn’t return that evening, Ottawa police said earlier this week.

Her phone had last pinged near Highland, Illinois — about five hours from Ottawa — according to a Wednesday news release from police.
