Planned and unplanned maintenance have caused one of the city’s three aquatic facilities to close early, and another will close this weekend, the city said Friday.

The South Park wading pool was supposed to be open through Saturday, Aug. 7, but it “has been closed for the season due to a maintenance issue,” according to a city news release.

The Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, will close Sunday, July 25 through Aug. 15 for annual maintenance. It will reopen Monday, Aug. 16.

While the indoor pool is closed, the Outdoor Aquatic Center at Seventh and Kentucky streets will hold morning lap swim and water workouts from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Saturday, Aug. 14.

The outdoor pool will offer recreational swimming from 1-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Sunday, Aug. 15, according to the release.
