Sixth Street, near Iowa:

Starting Monday, Oct. 18, a contractor will begin work to repair a sanitary sewer line along the south side of Sixth Street just east of Iowa Street. Eastbound Sixth Street will be reduced to one lane and the sidewalk on the south side of Sixth will be closed between Iowa and Wisconsin streets (by Casey’s General Store).

In addition, no left turns will be allowed onto Bluffs Drive from eastbound Sixth Street, and traffic leaving Bluffs Drive will only be allowed to turn right (westbound) onto Sixth Street, according to the City of Lawrence.

That work is expected to wrap up on or before Friday, Nov. 5.

23rd Street, Haskell to New Hampshire:

The right lane of westbound 23rd Street will be closed from Haskell Avenue to New Hampshire Street beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19.

The construction work is expected to conclude on or before Sunday, Nov. 14. A news release from the city did not specify the type of work to be done.
