Lawrence man struck by vehicle on I-70, seriously injured

A Lawrence man was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 70 and seriously injured late Wednesday, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Valeria Michelle Jordan, 32, of Leavenworth, was westbound in a Mazda CX-5 on I-70 in Wyandotte County around 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the KHP crash report.

Near mile marker 411.8, Jordan struck pedestrian MacKenzie Charles Moore, 30, of Lawrence, and the disabled Dodge Nitro he had been driving, according to the report.

Moore was taken by ambulance to the University of Kansas hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to the report.

Jordan was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
