The Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center will open for the summer on Monday, June 6, the city announced Tuesday.

The South Park Wading Pool will open a little sooner than that, on Wednesday, June 1.

  • 1 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

One exception to those hours will be on the 4th of July, when the pool will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Swim teams will be renting the pool from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, according to the city’s news release.

The wading pool’s hours will be:

  • 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday

  • Closed Sundays; also closed July 4

The Indoor Aquatic Center will also switch to its summer hours from Monday, June 6 through Saturday, July 23.

Lap swimming will be from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. It will be closed Sundays.

“Presently, there are no leisure pool swimming hours available at the Indoor Aquatic Center during the summer hours; however, they may be added as staffing levels change,” according to the city’s news release. “The Indoor Aquatic Center will also be closed Sunday, July 24 – Sunday, Aug. 14, for the annual maintenance shutdown.”

Admissions prices for the indoor and outdoor aquatic centers are as follows:

  • $5 for kids ages 3 to 17
  • $5 for adults older than 60
  • $6 for adults ages 18 to 59

There is no charge for kids ages 2 and younger with an adult’s paid admission, according to the release. There is a limit of three children per paying adult.

Aquatic passes and punch cards are also available at the aquatic centers. Initial passes must be purchased in person at one of the facilities, but they can be renewed online at this link.
