Lawrence community members can get a closer look and learn about a variety of electric vehicles at a showcase on Sunday at South Park.
According to the Sustainability Action Network, electric vehicles are one of the most effective ways to reduce petroleum use and climate heating emissions. This event will close out National Drive Electric Week, which is Sept. 23 through Oct. 2.
“So far there are 22 electric cars coming including a Lucid Air, lots of electric bicycles from three bicycle shops, a Ford F-150 Lightning pickup, a Rivian pickup, and a brand new Lawrence Transit battery-electric bus made by Gillig,” according to information on the event website.
The Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 on the northeast side of South Park. It’s a rain-or-shine event. Learn more and see a list of vehicles that are expected to be there at this link.
