The Lawrence Kansas Juneteenth Organization would like to wish all of our many supporters a happy new year!

As many of you know, Juneteenth is a significant historical and cultural holiday celebrated amongst Black and African American people nationwide. Since 2003, we have been recognizing this event through local public celebrations and educational events in Lawrence.

This year’s celebration of Juneteenth, we hosted the largest gathering of community members and vendors than ever before. None of that would have been possible without the help and support given to us by these special community partners.

The musical performers at the Juneteenth celebration were big parts of the day! They played music that made the event feel like a party, and helped to create an atmosphere of joy and celebration. With talent ranging from jazz to blues to hip hop, these artists brought energy, great sound, and fantastic showmanship.
