The Haskell Alumni Association is hosting a powwow next weekend, and all are welcome to attend.
The free event is set for Saturday, March 25 in the Tecumseh gymnasium at Haskell Indian Nations University. Doors open at noon, and the Gourd Dance begins at 2 p.m. Grand Entry is at 6 p.m.
There are divisions for all ages: anyone under the age of 7 can enter the Tiny Tots category, and people over the age of 55 are welcome to dance in the Golden Age groups. Boys ages 7-17 and men 18-54 will dance in the traditional, grass and fancy styles, and girls and women will perform their best traditional, jingle and fancy dances.
Anyone interested in vending at the event may reach out to Brittany Hall at bhall@haskellalumni.com or 785-218-8204.
Donations are greatly appreciated. To help the Haskell Alumni Association continue their work, visit this link.
