Person killed in crash in Lawrence, police say

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early Monday, according to Lawrence police.

First responder radio reports indicated that around 7:35 a.m. Monday, a vehicle and a motorcycle had collided at McDonald Drive and Rockledge Road, and that the motorcyclist was in serious condition.

The motorcyclist was a man in his 30s, according to a Facebook update from police.

“We are working to notify his family and will keep the community updated,” according to the post.

Police tweeted early Monday that the intersection was closed in all directions following the crash, affecting traffic to and from the nearby Interstate 70 exit.

The road had reopened by 12:30 p.m., police said in a Facebook update.
