The second volume of the “Embattled Lawrence” series, “The Enduring Struggle For Freedom,” was released this summer after years of anticipation. Editor Dennis Domer compiled articles and chapters from a wide array of authors for the book, which centers on one of Lawrence’s most continuous historical themes: the fight for freedom.

The celebration will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15 at Merchants Pub & Plate, 746 Massachusetts St. It is open to the public.

Domer and other authors featured in the book will be signing copies, which can be purchased at the event or beforehand at the Raven Book Store. Drinks will also be available for purchase.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Watkins Museum of History.
