Navigators with Cover Kansas will be available in the Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health lobby Thursday to help people sign up for coverage through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace.

Those who want health coverage to begin Jan. 1, 2024 will need to enroll and make a first payment by Friday, Dec. 15.

If people miss the Dec. 15 deadline, they can still enroll before Jan. 16 to have coverage starting in February, Daniel Smith, a spokesperson for LDCPH, said via email.

“In the Community Health Assessment residents identified access to Health Insurance as being an important area for improvement,” Smith said.

Navigators will be onsite from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at LDCPH, 200 Maine St., Suite B.

More information about Cover Kansas and about the marketplace can be found on their website, getcoveredkansas.org.
