Baldwin City’s Maple Leaf Festival to return this weekend

The third weekend of October is here, and so is Baldwin City’s annual Maple Leaf Festival.

Arts and crafts booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 through Eighth Street downtown.

The annual quilt show will have those same hours on Saturday but will open at 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the festival’s website.

The annual parade, this year with the theme of “Turn a New Leaf,” starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. It will start at Third and High streets, then make its way north to Sixth and Chapel streets.

There will be more than 20 food booths with barbecue, turkey legs, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade pies, funnel cakes and more.

Animals are not allowed at the festival, per city ordinance, except for service animals with documentation.
