The Lawrence Public Library’s fourth annual Community Resource Fair will bring numerous local organizations and resources into one space, along with free haircuts, coffee and books.

The event is set for noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at LPL, 707 Vermont St.

“The Community Resource Fair aims to make the search for essential community resources easier by providing access to information and support all in one place,” according to a news release from the library. “Over a dozen local organizations will be on site to share their expertise, including preparing for extreme weather and accessing legal resources, food, free menstrual products and more.”

Haircuts, courtesy of Precision Cuts and Styles, will be available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the release. Folks should show up with their hair washed and detangled. There will be also complimentary hot coffee and books provided.

“We want our community to be a place where everyone has access to adequate resources and is safe, healthy, and happy,” Gabby Boyle, community resource specialist, said in the release. “This event is not just an opportunity to highlight resources; it’s also a warm and welcoming space for people to connect on a face-to-face level.”

The library also maintains a resource guide that is updated regularly. Find it online at lplks.org/community-resources.
