Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence was aglow with holiday lights just after midnight on Christmas as fog hung in the air.
Fog is expected to persist over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka.
Lawrence could see more dense fog and some patchy drizzle after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday morning could see areas of fog and drizzle, and the NWS forecast shows a high temperature of 48°.
The NWS issued a dense fog advisory effective from 7 p.m. Wednesday through noon Thursday for much of central to northeastern Kansas. NWS advises driving slowly, using low beam headlights and leaving plenty of distance between you and the next vehicle.
Thursday night and Friday morning, Lawrence could see more widespread fog, according to NWS, as well as patchy fog Friday night into Saturday morning.
Happy holidays, Lawrence!
