Starting with this Martin Luther King Jr. Day — Monday, Jan. 20 — solid waste pickup will not be delayed by a day in Lawrence.
The city recently announced a change to holiday trash pickup. Beginning this year, solid waste pickup will only be paused for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
“This decision reflects feedback from our Solid Waste team, who work hard every day to keep Lawrence clean and safe,” according to a news release from the city. “By reducing weekend work and limiting disruptions, we’re not just delivering great service but also giving our staff more time to spend with their loved ones.”
