Lawrence is expected to get more snow this week starting Monday afternoon, with the greatest likelihood during the day Wednesday.
There’s a 20% chance of snow after noon Monday; that grows to 60% Monday night into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service forecast as of Sunday morning.
Lawrence could see snow accumulations of up to 2 inches, while the rest of Douglas County is forecast to see about 1 inch, according to NWS. The low temperature Monday night is forecast to dip down to 21°, with a high of 28° to follow Tuesday.
Tuesday has a smaller chance of snow during the day but a 70% chance overnight going into Wednesday, and the chance of precipitation Wednesday is 100%, according to the forecast. The overnight low in the forecast Tuesday into Wednesday is 15°, and Wednesday is not expected to warm up much, with a high of 22°.
Snow could continue overnight Wednesday into Thursday, when the temperature is expected to be coldest — a low around 5°, according to NWS. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph, and there’s a 50% chance of snow.
Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny but cold, with a high near 22°, according to the forecast. Temperatures could rise above freezing to 35° Friday, but there is a slight chance of freezing rain and snow Friday night into Saturday morning.
