Lawrence woman found safe after being reported missing

Update, 8:01 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22:

Police say Wanda Dyer was found safe within about one minute from the time this post was published.

“Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out,” police said in a follow-up social media post.

Original post, 7:58 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22:

Lawrence police are asking for the public’s help to find a 74-year-old woman last seen leaving her home on foot around 1:30 Saturday morning.

Wanda Dyer, pictured above, is 5-foot-2 and was wearing a black hooded coat, gloves and blue jeans when she left home near Fifth and California streets.

Dyer was pushing a folding grocery cart, according to a Facebook post from the Lawrence Police Department.

Police ask that anyone with information on her location call dispatch at 785-843-0250.
