The City of Lawrence has launched a new online map tool called Citizen Connect that allows people to see locations of plans, permits, inspections, business licenses and code cases that the city has processed.
The single portal replaces a handful of previous individual tools, such as maps of long-term and short-term rental licenses, building permits, planning submittals, permits and a licensed contractor lookup.
“This new tool streamlines and simplifies the process for community members to find current and accurate information on what is happening in their community,” Jeff Crick, director of Planning and Development Services for the city, said in a news release Wednesday morning. “We encourage community members to explore the maps and take advantage of having one centralized resource for this data.”
Items on the map can be filtered by date, and data is downloadable.
People can also create alerts so they’re notified of developments in their neighborhood or elsewhere, according to the release.
Citizen Connect is available online at cityoflawrence-ks-cc.connect.socrata.com.
