Thousands of pollinator-friendly plants are available for purchase during Monarch Watch’s annual online sale and spring open house.

Milkweed, lantana, phlox and more are for sale at spring.monarchwatch.org while supplies last.

“These plants are ideal for starting butterfly gardens or adding to established gardens and can contribute to the health of monarch and pollinator populations,” according to the catalog.

Funds raised support the University of Kansas-based monarch education, conservation and research program.

Purchases must be scheduled for pickup May 7, 8 or 10, and they can’t be shipped. A minimum purchase of $20 is required. Free curbside delivery within Lawrence city limits is available for orders or donations of $100 or more. Customers who buy 10 plants will receive an 11th for free.

The plant sale will culminate with Monarch Watch’s annual spring open house, which will feature lab and garden tours, games, facepainting and monarchs. The all-ages event is free and set to take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Foley Hall, 2021 Constant Ave. on KU’s West Campus.

Monarch Watch is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Monarch Waystation program with a special discount offer: Through May 10, gardeners can purchase for $20 the Monarch Waystation Registration and Sign Bundle, available for local pickup with plant orders.
