Wayne L. Reusch, Jr. 80, Lawrence passed away on May 6, 2025, in Lawrence, KS. The family will greet friends and family from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary and a Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.
Wayne was born November 1, 1944, in Lawrence, KS the son of Wayne L., Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Erwin) Reusch.
He grew up in Douglas County, KS and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1963. Wayne began working for the University of Kansas in the landscape department in 1964 and had a 46-year tenure at the university, retiring in 2010. He had a love for horticulture and being outdoors.
He married Sandra Hartpence on November 20, 1965, at the First Methodist Church in Tonganoxie, KS. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2021, and he was also preceded in death by his parents.
Other survivors include two sons, Clifford (Liisa) Reusch and James Reusch, a daughter, Jeannie Mae Beerbower; two brothers, John (Taunya) Reusch and Gary (Susan) Reusch; eight grandchildren; Kaitlyn (Conner), Kimberly (Blaine), Dacoda (Cassey), Katie, Sloan, Damon, Antonia (Nick) and Luke, as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Wayne’s name to St. Jude’s or the Charity of your choice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
