A 31-year-old Lawrence man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Kansas Highway 10 Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. Tuesday “when westbound traffic in the area was slowing,” according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

“The motorcyclist braked for traffic but lost control and slid into an oncoming vehicle causing minor damage,” according to DGSO.

Medics took the motorcyclist to a Topeka-area hospital for treatment, according to DGSO.

A stretch of the highway was closed between the interchanges at Iowa Street and 27th Street / Wakarusa Drive for a while Tuesday as first responders worked at the scene.
