Football devotees can park downtown and take fare-free Lawrence Transit buses to get to the Jayhawks’ games this fall.
The city is encouraging sports fans to enjoy downtown shops and restaurants before and after football games by parking in the area and catching a bus.
On weekend game days, the lower level and ramp of the Riverfront Parking Garage and the top level of the Vermont Street Parking Garage are free. Paid parking options can be found here.
Stadiumgoers can catch KU buses at the stop on the 700 block of Vermont, across from the public library.

“Passengers using ADA transit service to the game will be picked up at both the Riverfront Parking Garage and the Vermont Street Parking Garage,” according to a city release.
Folks can catch game day buses downtown two hours before kickoff and for 90 minutes after the game. A bus will arrive every 20 minutes for Saturday games, and every 15 minutes for Friday games, before kickoff.
After the event, buses will come by every 10 minutes and stop at both Riverfront and Vermont Street parking garages.
