City contractors are blocking some traffic and closing part of a sidewalk for a storm sewer replacement project along 24th Street in southeastern Lawrence.

Starting Monday, contractors have closed the eastbound side of 24th Street between Ponderosa Drive and the eastern intersection of 24th Street and Home Circle.

They are also closing the sidewalk along the same stretch as they complete work on the south side of the road.

Work is expected to be complete Friday, April 3, pending weather or other delays.

City of Lawrence staff members on Monday also released a 2026 construction preview that gives an overview of major planned roadwork projects. That can be found at lawrenceks.gov/construction.
