The Lawrence Times is launching separate email newsletters for obituaries. They’ll be available for free to all readers.
Previously, our daily email newsletters have included obituaries. That will no longer be the case, other than occasional news obituaries — articles that we wrote, edited or republished as news coverage of the deaths of influential community members.
The new email newsletters will be sent to subscribers every day that we publish at least one obituary.
Signing up is quick and easy.
If you’re new to our email newsletters:
Type in your name and email address, and check the boxes next to all the types of newsletters you want to receive on the form below.
You should receive an email momentarily after signing up. If you do not see an email from us in your inbox within a few minutes, please check your spam folder; if you still don’t see it, please check for typos and try again.
Please make sure you click on the button that says “Yes, subscribe me to this list” in the email you receive, follow the link and complete your signup, or you will not receive future emails. That extra step is to protect you and make sure you’re not getting emails you don’t want.
If you already receive our emails:
You will need to opt in to receive obituaries via email. You can sign up using the form below.
Please make sure to check the boxes next to all the emails you wish to continue receiving — so for instance, if you already receive our daily newsletters and weekly highlights emails and you want to keep receiving them, please make sure you check those boxes.
If you only wish to receive obituary emails, check only that box.
If you run into any issues, please send us an email at [email protected] and we'll see what we can do to help troubleshoot.
About our obituaries
The Lawrence Times has offered Lawrence and Douglas County community members space to publish remembrances of loved ones who lived in this community, free of charge, since shortly after we started publishing in March 2021.
We are honored to be able to offer this service free to community members in mourning. We believe the last thing our neighbors need in those difficult moments is another financial matter to worry about.
Learn more and read obituaries at this link.
We can't do any of this without support from our readers. Please consider a paid subscription to the Times to help us keep our news and obituaries available for everyone.
If you're interested in sponsoring our obituaries and new newsletters — one of the most important services we provide to our readers — please reach out to [email protected].
If local news matters to you, please help us keep doing this work.
