Elizabeth May Friend of Lenexa, KS passed away August 13th, 2026 in Kansas City, MO. She was a beautiful and caring daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, girlfriend, and friend and will be deeply missed.
Elizabeth was born May 7, 1991 in Independence, MO to Denise and Doug and graduated from William Chrisman High in 2009, she worked at the USPS at the time of her passing. Elizabeth was happiest ‘chillin’ with friends and family, listening to Mac Dre, and playing with her cat Buster with a Modelo in hand.
Elizabeth is survived by her mother Denise Baker, father Stephen ‘Doug’ Friend II, siblings Mark (Alissa) Grett, Laura (Nick) Duncan, Melanie (Ryan) Bentlage, aunts Lorraine (Mike) Purcell, Audrie (Tim) Wenger, Connie Grob, Dianne Friend-Adams, cousins Colin, Marshall, and Spencer, and nieces and nephews Mason, Amelia, and Evelyn as well as her boyfriend Chris Carter and close friend Shawna Mustafa.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Enis Kocisek, paternal grandmother Carol Atherton, and brother Steve Friend III.
Elizabeth with be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, KS with her grandmother Enis in a private service.
