Katherine Sue Schumock, 79, of Lawrence passed away on August 22, 2026 at her home. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Katherine was born January 12, 1947 in Concordia, Kansas the daughter of John Daniel and Ruth Harriet (Chesebro) Trude. She graduated from Concordia High School in Concordia, Kansas in 1965.
She worked for The University of Kansas in Administration for over 20 years.
She married George Melvin Schumock on December 5, 1964 in Concordia, KS. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Danny Schumock.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Scott) Beard, son Eddie (Carol) Schumock both of Lawrence, KS; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hinkle of Washington, KS; six grandchildren, Kenny, Rachel, Sammy, David, Cody, Darian and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to VNA Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
