The City of Lawrence invites the community to celebrate the harvest season at Sunday’s Autumn Harvest Festival at South Park.
The event, hosted by the city’s Parks and Recreation department, is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. See the layout of booths at this link.
Some of the offerings of booths include permanent jewelry, kids’ items, knickknacks, home goods, fiber arts, items for pets and much more. There will be food trucks onsite and Free State Brewing Company beer for sale as well.
Live music is planned to start at the bottom of each hour from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. See the full lineup at this link.
The city will determine by the end of the day Friday, Oct. 2 whether the event will be canceled because of the weather. Updates will be posted on the city’s website at this link and via RainoutLine.
As of Thursday afternoon, Lawrence was under a flood watch through 4 a.m. Friday; however, the National Weather Service forecasts sun and calm wind with a high near 73 degrees for Sunday.
The city is also planning a Holiday Extravaganza Artisan Fair, set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Vendors can still apply to participate through Nov. 22; find more information at this link.
