People interested in clean, alternative energy solutions can learn more about portable solar systems from members of the Kansas Sierra Club Chapter and a KU professor emerita.

The event will focus on legalizing and popularizing solar systems that plug into wall outlets. Zack Pistora, director of the Kansas Sierra Chapter, and Alice Bean, distinguished professor emerita at KU, will present.

“Several states have already modernized laws to allow households to offset power bills with these easy and affordable plug-in systems,” according to a Sierra Club webpage.

Pistora met with members of Solar United Neighbors to talk about similar legislation in Kansas, per that page.

The event with Pistora and Bean will run from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 at First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway.
