Lawrence
Caroll Yvonne Adee Eye, age 86, passed away peacefully at Lawrence Memorial Hospital on October 22, 2026. Caroll was born on March 21, 1940, in Abilene, KS, the daughter of Loyall M. Adee and Esther M. Rider. She graduated in 1958 from Abilene High School.
Caroll married Lowell S. Eye on August 24, 1958, in Abilene, KS. They recently celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage, and she often reminded her husband that he was the best father and husband that anyone could ever have.
In 1968, they moved to Lyndon, KS, to raise their two children, Lorrie & Daniel. Caroll worked for USD 421 in the Lyndon School Cafeteria as the bread and dessert maker from 1978–1985. She enjoyed living on the farm, where she canned vegetables, fruit, and worked tirelessly to raise and provide for her family. She loved playing games, coloring, doing word searches, and puzzles. She was also very talented and made beautiful works of art in cross stitching, canvas crafts, and sewing. She enjoyed gifting her homemade crafts or baked goods to family and friends.
In 1985, they moved to Topeka, and after retirement, they moved to Lawrence in 1992, and she was a homemaker who loved fancy jewelry, watching the QVC/JTV and Animal channel. Ultimately, the absolute treasure in her life was spending time with her family.
Caroll was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Sandra, Lola, Christine, and Linda.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Eye, of the home; her daughter, Lorrie (Tom) Wiseman of Lawrence; and her son, Daniel (Beth) of Baldwin City.
Her grandchildren are Kari (Ken) Brungardt, Lindsay Wiseman (Brett Swift), Darrin (Christina) Eye, and Danielle Eye. Her great-grandchildren are Brayden, Bristol, Peyton, Jaxon, Lizzy, Miriam, Faythe (Henry), Jackson (Brooklyn), and Lawson. Her great-great-grandchildren are Kenzleigh, Lily, James, and Harvey.
She is also survived by her siblings: Melvin (Sherri) Adee, Bruce Enger, Janice (Steve) Dester, and Rhonda Keating, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is being planned for March 20, 2027, in Lawrence, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, as she was a breast cancer survivor, or Visiting Nurses of Douglas County.
