Kansas Highway 10 in western Lawrence will be reduced to one lane in multiple places for construction work this week and next, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
KDOT announced Wednesday afternoon that, conditions permitting, flaggers will be directing traffic near the interchange at Sixth Street/U.S. Highway 40 on Thursday and Friday, July 31 and Aug. 1.
Flaggers will also be directing traffic on K-10 over Yankee Tank Creek, just west of the Iowa Street/U.S. 59 Highway interchange, from Thursday, July 31 through Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on those days.
“Motorists should plan for possible delays and allow extra time for travel,” according to KDOT.
The work is part of a project to widen the west leg of the South Lawrence Trafficway into a four-lane highway.
