Today — Tuesday, Aug. 3 — is the last day to vote in the primary race for Lawrence City Commission and Lawrence school board.
This election will narrow the fields in both races to six candidates. Three new city commissioners and school board members will then be elected in the general election in November.
As long as you’re registered to vote in Douglas County, you can cast your ballot anytime from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
You can find your polling place by filling in your name and date of birth on this form on the county’s website. A full list of polling places is available at this link, and you can find a map at this link.
If you requested a mail ballot, you can drop it in one of two dropboxes. One is at the old county courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., and the other is at the new elections office, 711 W. 23rd St. (23rd and Louisiana streets).

It’s too late to register to vote in today’s election, but you can still register to vote in the general election. You can take care of that and also request a mail ballot for the general election at this link.
Keep an eye on The Lawrence Times for results as they come in tonight, starting after 7 p.m.
