2 Lawrence High School seniors earn special recognition from College Board

Two seniors from Lawrence High School have earned special recognition from The College Board for academic excellence, according to a news release from Lawrence Public Schools Thursday evening.

Diego Klish is a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar, and Sofia Thomas is a National African American Recognition Program Scholar.

The honors are based on their remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and/or AP exams, according to the news release.

“Students selected for this prestigious honor can cite it on their college and scholarship applications,” according to the release. “In turn, colleges use the listing of this honor as a way of identifying students from underrepresented groups who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP exams and in their classwork.”
