Major Trent McKinley said officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 4000 block of Overland Drive just before 2 p.m. They found one person injured by a gunshot; that person was taken by ambulance to an area trauma center, McKinley said.

Two other people were also taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, McKinley said. Those injuries were not caused by gunfire, he said.

“Officers are currently investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting,” McKinley said. “At this time, it is believed all involved parties have been contacted and there is no continued threat to public safety.”

McKinley said police will likely provide updates and further details on Monday.
