Fans arrived to “fill the hill” hours before kickoff in Kansas’ matchup against TCU as ESPN’s College GameDay traveled to Lawrence for the first time.
KU football is 5-0, ranked 19th in the Associated Press poll. The team’s success on the field has been rippling through the community.
Coach Lance Leipold made an appearance on the TV show.
Bill Self, who coached the KU basketball team to a national championship in April, selected the best sign from among three in the crowd: “Beware of the Booth” beat out “Leipold Daniels 2024 – America’s Team” and “KU moms raise winners.”
Comedian and actor Rob Riggle, a KU alum, arrived in Lawrence as the celebrity guest picker ahead of the 11 a.m. kickoff.
For those watching at home, the game will be broadcast on FS1.
