Lawrence community members rallied one more time Monday afternoon before the Lawrence school board’s big votes on whether to close Pinckney and Broken Arrow elementary schools.
The school board is considering school closures in an attempt to save money in the district’s budget, primarily for better pay for staff members.
Many parents, students, staff members and school community members filed into the board meeting room after the rally to make their voices heard.
As of 7:20 p.m., the school board was still discussing a report on middle school schedule and curriculum changes. The board meeting can be viewed online at this link.
