A woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday south of Lawrence, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
A passer-by reported the crash at 2:10 a.m. Saturday. The driver of a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado was westbound on North 1100 Road in the 1400 block of North 1100 Road, according to a news release from DGSO.
“Deputies determined the driver, a 49-year-old woman, had left the road to the north, corrected and then slid across the road before striking the tree,” according to the release.
Dispatchers said over emergency radios that the driver had been trapped in the vehicle.
Medics took the woman to a Kansas City-area hospital by ground ambulance with injuries they did not believe to be life-threatening, according to the release.
The red pin on the map shows the approximate location of the crash, according to Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical’s PulsePoint app:
The sheriff’s office did not provide the woman’s name.
