City contractors will soon begin maintenance work on Maine Street between Second and Fourth streets, near LMH Health.
A couple of blocks of 11th Street will be closed before and after KU football home games for increased pedestrian and traffic safety. Also, construction on Haskell south of 23rd may wrap up earlier than originally slated.

The city aims to open one lane of Tennessee Street between Sixth and Ninth streets this week, while keeping blocks of Eighth Street east and west of Tennessee closed.
Starting next week, Lawrence will see changes in traffic patterns along a stretch of 27th Street, as well as at the intersection of West Second Street and McDonald Drive. Here are the details.
About half a mile of Second Street will close to through traffic, work on Iowa Street will flip to the other side of the road and more roadwork will be underway in the coming week.
Kansas Highway 10 in western Lawrence will be reduced to one lane in multiple places for construction work this week and next.
Two blocks of Maine Street will close for maintenance, as well as parts of westbound West 27th Street. Some work on 19th Street is temporarily halted for Douglas County Fair festivities.
A 1-mile section of U.S. Highway 40 northwest of Lawrence in Douglas County will be closed next week.

19th Street between Haskell Avenue and Harper Street will close to traffic Tuesday, and there will be overnight work at 9th and Iowa later in the week.
