City staff members are recommending portions of Ninth Street stay closed for construction through the summer without opening for the World Cup. City commissioners on Tuesday will consider an extra $4.8M expense related to the project.

Three streets in southeastern Lawrence will be closed for about two to three weeks for an emergency sanitary sewer main repair, according to the city.

The 27th Street intersection at K-10 will be closed intermittently during overnight hours this week as part of construction to expand that section of the highway to four lanes.
