Douglas County’s proposed budget for 2025 would keep property tax rates flat but increase taxes for most residents because valuations have increased. Commissioners also could still add $20 million in expenditures.
Some Douglas County residents ages 65 and up as well as some veterans with disabilities will be eligible to apply for property tax rebates starting in 2025.
The Douglas County Commission on Wednesday approved a 2022 budget with a slight increase in property tax rates and an agreement for a grant of $500,000 toward addressing homelessness.
