Updated article: A man who has become well-known in Lawrence for his protests of mask mandates was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly threatening people with a sign post as they attempted to enter a vaccine clinic for kids.
Eric Stafford, lobbyist for the Kansas Chamber, wants legislators to understand that businesses don’t want mandates “from either side.”

A person was injured in a shooting Friday. Lawrence police are investigating the circumstances, and the hospital was temporarily locked down as a precaution.
