Ten occupants of an apartment building at Fifth and Colorado streets were displaced after an overnight fire, according to a news release from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical.

After a rooftop fire at Lawrence’s Babcock Place Apartments on Tuesday, a “vast majority” of the building’s residents have been able to return to their units, said Shannon Oury, executive director of the Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority.

Some residents evacuated Babcock Place Apartments, 1700 Massachusetts St., Tuesday afternoon as a fire burned on the roof.
