The Lawrence Arts Center is celebrating five decades enhancing the local arts scene with events this weekend, including a mural unveiling and an award ceremony complete with birthday cupcakes and a champagne toast.
Henry Farthing grew up surrounded by art. This Friday, they will debut their own collection of prints and photographs that invite viewers to reflect on their own personal upbringings.

All things with wheels will be decked out in decorations and parading down Massachusetts Street as part of the annual Art Tougeau event this weekend, which will also involve a new element: a unique block party in partnership with Hang12.
This Final Friday, the Cider Gallery will host an exhibit from youth-led curatorial group Hang12, alongside new works by artist Rick Wright. An exhibit at SeedCo Studios will feature the work of several Lawrence artists, including the current Lawrence Arts Center artists-in-residence.

Hang12, a student-led curatorial board run out of the Lawrence Arts Center, plans and runs art shows and art-centered community events with the goal of elevating young artists from the Lawrence area.
