Douglas County likely won’t get quite as much snow as the National Weather Service in Topeka had forecast on Monday, but some snow and very dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills are still on their way.
Very cold and very snowy weather is on its way to Douglas County.
The electrical grid that covers Kansas and western Missouri is expected to have plenty of power to keep up with demand this winter. But in the event of severe weather, the St. Louis area could be at risk.
Lawrence and the rest of northeastern Kansas is expected to see snow Monday evening into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
How bad is the Kansas drought? Among the most severe in recorded history. But some other years were more extreme.
